Why we made it
Every build has a story that lives in camera rolls, group chats and a shoebox of receipts. It deserves better. Dwellroad gives a project one honest home — a running logbook of what changed, a build sheet of every part and what it cost, and a profile that grows with the car instead of disappearing down a feed.
We started it because the tools we wanted didn't exist. Social apps flatten a multi-year build into a few disconnected posts; spreadsheets capture the cost but none of the feeling. We wanted both — the receipts and the reason.
A build isn't a before-and-after. It's a thousand small decisions, in order — and that order is the whole point.
What you can do here
Whether the car is a concours restoration or a daily that's slowly getting sorted, the workflow is the same:
- Keep a logbook. Date-stamped entries for every mod, service and drive — with photos, parts and notes.
- Build the sheet. Group parts by system, track total spend in your currency, and feature the mod you're proudest of.
- Share the build. A public car page that follows the work, not the algorithm — followed by people who care about the same details you do.
No engagement games, no reach to buy back. Just the build, documented properly, in a place made for it.
